Great Atmosphere and Great Service. I had the swordfish steak and my wife had the pork chop. Our waitress was very accommodating and we even had a free dessert since it was our anniversary. Great place for a nice, quiet dinner away from the crowds at the square

The food was excellent and the service was great. The little garden out back verified how fresh it all was. I'd say the only thing we didnt like was that our 3 year old got a lemonade and the straw was a piece of hay which was really hard to drink from. (Save the plastic straws I guess)

Update: Stopped in again. The service was okay and the food was good. You didn’t earn my five stars. The servers could be more attentive at 730pm on a Friday evening and the Chicken Sangria was okay. Fast and attentive servers. Good selection for dinner. I love the Mac and Cheese.

Just had brunch here. Food was awesome! Of the three dishes the croissant was the best with the eggs Benedict a close second. They have a great brunch menu, and looks like an even better dinner menu. Can't wait to come back and try. We sat outside. It was nice but the flies were ridiculous. Obviously no fault of their own. Might want to sit inside. My only gripe was our waitress. She was new so I let her service slide. Didn't take away from the overall experience. We'll be back. We recommend this place.

Good food, great patience with our kids. All salads were good. Pasta with shrimp looked and tasted as if someone had mowed it, very green with clippings all through it. Good variety of food available, varied menu.

We came in for Sunday Brunch and we're not disappointed. I had the Hibiscus Kiss while my husband enjoyed an oatmeal stout with our breakfast. Good was great and we had great service! Definitely recommend !

French Onion soup was great. The pot stickers were awesome. And, I really liked my burger. The way the place was layed out was really cool

Looking for lunch on a Sunday, we tried Kate's for the first time. Weather was perfect so we sat outside on the back patio, which was dominated by a giant smoker from some earlier period of that location. The menu, while not large, offered plenty of appealing choices. Being Sunday, the brunch menu added more interesting options. The wife kept it simple with Rosie's chicken salad sandwich. Simple but good! The nine grain bread was fresh and toasted just right, the chicken salad fresh and full of flavor. But the show stopper was the brunch shrimp and grits. The waitperson described them as 'Southwestern Style Shrimp and Grits'. That turned out to be a good description. The dish was spicy enough to get your attention, but not overwhelming. The Gulf shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. The balance of spices, base, cheddar grits, bacon and other ingredients was perfect. Overall, every bit as good as any shrimp&grits I've had in New Orleans. Bottom line; Kate's was laid back and friendly, the patio modest, but the food was the star of the show. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere!! My husband ordered the cocktail with shrimp, crab, guacamole etc, off of the appetizer section and it was outstanding!! I had the hibiscus lemonade and got 3 refills!! Stop here or you are missing out!

Great menu with a few gluten free options at lunch but more after 3pm. Kids menu is lacking, kids didn't eat their burgers. GF shrimp and grits were amazing though and normal sandwiches looked good.

Thia place does simple food right. Don't mistake simple for not excellent. Everything is fresh, well prepared, and just enough surprising flavors to keep things interesting. Solid wine choices, laid back atmosphere, friendly people. You can't go wrong.

Very nice indoors and outdoors place. Everything is made from scratch according to server. Menu slightly limited, nothing for lunch size portions and I had to ask if there was a lunch special.

Dog friendly patio seating! The owner and staff was extremely friendly and helpful with finding seating for my 2 dogs. Delicious food and outstanding service. Will definitely return! FYI: They do not supply straws

Interesting menu with quality ingredients and good local beer selection. They grow a lot of their own herbs and some produce as well. We chatted with Mr. Kate for a good while and he showed us around. Genuine people running a great restaurant.

We enjoyed the outdoor eating area for our Saturday brunch. Food was simple and a little cold when it arrived at our table.

Nice little restaurant hidden off the main drag. We did not go inside but ate out on the patio. Service was great and food was good and reasonably priced. The menu we got was for Brunch.

I am still thinking about the BAGEL AND LOX. So good. Wimberley needed a restaurant with a variety of choices for breakfast - Kate's Place delivers. Ample parking, comfortable seating, fair prices, delicious food.

Good food and service. Had the lamb sausage and chickpea stew, it was really good. The mashed potatoes and hibiscus lemonade were great. The entrance driveway is hard to find at night, but it's worth it.

We have dined here a number of times and enjoyed our meal. However, on Saturday evening we had a completely different experience. The food was mediocre at best and the service was bad. I am wondering if they have a new chief because in the past the food was really good. Hopefully this was a one time experience. We will try again and hopefully it will be a better experience.
